Frosted Glass
WHY FROSTED GLASS?
- Highly durable
- Easy to clean
- Tempered safety glass
- Luxurious finish
HOW TO CLEAN FROSTED GLASS
- Remove all objects and items before cleaning
- Wipe away any light dust and particles with a dry microfiber cloth from both sides of the glass
- Wipe off any sticky marks or stubborn spots with a damp wet cloth or soft-bristled brush
- Use an ammonia-based product and spray onto the entire glass surface
- Wipe down thoroughly with a clean, dry microfiber cloth or newspaper - moving in one direction only
- Repeat the previous step with an additional clean, dry microfiber cloth until all excess liquid has been wiped dry
- Repeat the cleaning process every 1-2 months, depending on the furniture’s level of use
ADDITIONAL TIPS
- Tempered glass has been hardened to resist breakage, but by no means should it be considered unbreakable or scratch-proof
- Wipe down surfaces regularly to prevent buildup of excess dirt, dust, salt or chlorine, which may lead to damage
- Don’t hose down furniture during periods of extreme heat - sudden temperature changes may cause stress on a material which can weaken it long-term
- Use coasters, placemats and heat mats as appropriate to increase longevity
- Don’t leave oil-based items on frosted glass surfaces for long periods of time to prevent staining
- Don’t drop hard or heavy items on to the surface; this may stress the glass, even when dropped from a short distance
- Don’t use your tabletop as a food preparation surface; always use a chopping board when cutting food items as a knife can cause damage to the surface
- Don’t apply glass cleaner to painted or frosted glass; this can cause peeling or discolouration
- Don’t allow pools of water to sit on the glass; on sunny days, this creates a lens effect which may cause the coloured coating on the underside of the glass to peel or fade due to “hot spots”
- Prolonged outdoor use in extreme weather conditions is not recommended
- Cover furniture when not in use to prevent damage from inclement weather, leaf mulch, sap and wildlife
- Consider furniture placement and avoid areas that are likely to cause excessive build up of corrosive materials
HOW TO CLEAN OIL BASED STAINS FROM FROSTED GLASS
- Mix 1 tablespoon of detergent such as Fairy Liquid Detergent and 1 tablespoon of baking soda with 2 cups of boiling water
- Apply to the stained area and allow to sit for a few minutes
- Wipe down in one direction only with a clean microfibre cloth
- Remove excess water and white streaks with a paper towel, dampened with a little lemon juice, in one direction only
